A Peek at What's Been Happening

It has been awhile since I posted some class happenings on our blog.  Here are some of the things we've been up to this month.
During our reading workshop, we have 5 laptops in our classroom.
The students work on reading books on their level from RAZ Kids.  Check
it out on our links and resource page.

Students filled their hearts with our spelling words.

Mrs. Hogan Returns

I would like to take the time to say from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!  Your well wishes, thoughts, prayers, visits, and gifts were greatly appreciated.  We welcomed our second daughter into the world on December 7, 2011 at 12:25 p.m.  She weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 20 inches long.  She was given the name Elly Sue Hogan.  She joins sister Lily Marie who is 2 years old.

This week, I returned with the students on Wednesday.  I would like to thank Mrs. Gatlin for taking great care of the students while I was on maternity leave.  Now that I have returned, we will begin weekly homework again on Monday, February 6th.  Please be sure to look in your child's homework folder for the weekly homework schedule.  In addition, I will begin posting homework on our class webpage and linking the post to our class Facebook page.  Friday folders were not sent home today; however, they will resume next week as well and will be sent home again on Friday, February 10th.  Please be sure to read any comments and retun the folders on the following Monday.

Next week, I will be sending home mid-term grades.  Please be on the look out for your child's grades in their Friday folder.  Also, if you have any questions regarding your child's progress in first grade, please do not hesitate to contact me.
