Rescheduled Field Trip, Movie Night, and Conferences

Last week, the first grade teachers rescheduled our class field trip for October 30th.  We are hopeful that those that attended the first time will be able to go again.  Please remember that you WILL NOT need to pay for the field trip again.  However, we still need another permission slip for your child to attend because of the date change.  A new field trip permission slip went home on Friday.  Please return that no later than Wednesday, October 15th.  If you paid to go on the field trip, you will not need to pay again.  But, if you are a parent that didn't attend the first field trip, you can pay to attend this one.  Please let me know if you want to chaperone.  In addition, if you are a parent that cannot go, but you paid previously, let us know and we will reimburse you.  Hopefully this rain clears up so that our next trip will be a great day to visit the pumpkin patch.

Thank you for those of you that returned your conference forms.  I have scheduled all of your conferences.  You will be receiving a letter that states what date and time your conference will be.  Please keep in mind that I tried my best to provide you a time closest to your time of preference.  However, if the time I gave you does not work for your schedule, please let me know and we will work out a time that you can attend. 

The first grade teachers, along with Burgher Haus, Hawthorn Bank, and Kiwanias, are sponsoring the next movie night this coming Friday, October 17th.  We are so excited to be showing Maleficent.  It is rated PG.

 

Please remember that movie nights are FREE entertainment for you your family.  Doors open at 6:30 pm with the movie to begin at 7:00 pm.  Once you enter, you will receive a FREE raffle ticket to win the movie, along with Burger Haus buffet certificates and honey from Mike Robertson.  

In addition to the free raffle, we are offering a variety of other raffles.  Scholastic, along with our parents, have donated items to be placed in additional raffles.  These raffles will contain, books, movies, popcorn, soda, candy, etc.  Everything you will need to have a night of family fun!  You can purchase these raffle tickets for .25 cents a ticket.

We also received scooter donations from Hawthorn Bank and helmets/safety gear from Kiwanna's.  We will raffle off one scooter and helmet for .50 cents a ticket.  There will be one girl scooter and one boy scooter.

Additionally, we will be selling candy grams to be given to the students on the day of fall parties.  Candy grams are $1.00 for one or $15.00 for a whole class bundle.  Candy grams can be personalized the night of movie night.  We will then pass them out on the Friday of our fall parties on October 30th.

We are so thankful for everyone for their generous donations of items, money, and time for our movie night.  We are looking forward to a night of fun with our firsties.  If you haven't been to a movie night, it is a definite must for your family.  Bring something comfortable to sit in (my girls usually sit in beanbags with many pillow and blankets) and enjoy the movie.  Concession stands will be available!  Hope to see you there!!!!

FYI:  If you are a parent who volunteered to work at movie night, please arrive by 6:20 pm.  Again, thank you to everyone!  You have all been so generous and we are forever grateful!
